Smith Law Group LLLP is pleased to announce that Jeff Nobles has joined the firm as a partner. His addition marks the firm’s expansion into Houston, where Jeff will continue his civil appellate practice.
Jeff began his legal career as a briefing attorney for Justice James F. “Bud” Warren of the First Court of Appeals. After two years as a trial lawyer, he became a full-time appellate lawyer in 1989, and obtained certification as a Civil Appellate Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1991. He became a partner in the appellate section of Haynes and Boone in 1995, and helped found the appellate boutique Smith, Nobles & Adams in 1997. In 2000, Jeff’s firm merged with Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, where he worked as a partner for many years. Most recently, he was a partner in the Houston office of Deans & Lyons.
Jeff has a long and successful record handling challenging appeals against other leading appellate lawyers in all types of cases, including business disputes, personal injury lawsuits, media defense, probate matters, family law, political controversies, and bankruptcy matters, among many others. He has developed deep and strong relationships with clients and referring lawyers who trust his advice, skill, and integrity in handling difficult issues and appeals.
Jeff attended Princeton University, where he earned an A.B. in History, and Union Theological Seminary of New York City, where he was a North American Ministerial Fellow. He graduated from Baylor Law School in 1986.
“We’ve had a number of cases from Houston in recent years, and we’ve wanted to establish a presence there for some time,” said D. Todd Smith, the firm’s founder and managing partner. “Jeff brings a wealth of experience to the table, and he is a natural fit with our practice. We couldn’t be happier to have him.”
Jeff added, “I’ve been friends with partners in Smith Law Group for years, and the firm’s commitment to excellence and delivering value to clients has always impressed me. I’m confident that becoming a member of this group will enhance my ability to provide creative and efficient solutions to our clients in trial and appellate courts.”
Jeff can be reached through the firm’s Houston office number, (713) 489-1688, or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
